Jordon a senior in the GST BOCES Nurse Assisting program at the Coopers Education Center was recently selected as a recipient of theVanguard Award for the 2015-16 academic year. The award, which is given by the Nontraditional Employment & Training Program (NET) at the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society, University at Albany, recognizes outstanding students who are enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that prepare them for careers that are not traditional for their gender. Eight winners were selected from a pool of nominees from secondary and post-secondary institutions across New York State. Vanguard Award winners will be recognized during events that are scheduled for next month in Albany. A videotaped interview with each of the awardees will be posted on the NET website atwww.netprogram.org.
