Today our elementary building celebrated, the birthday of the man it is named after. Happy Birthday Glenn Curtiss!










Last night, our Curtiss Chorus, Beginner, and Symphonic bands performed their Spring Concert for their families and friends. The students' performances were outstanding, and their hard work this year was evident. Thank you to Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Jenney for preparing a great performance.

The Public Hearing on the 2025-2026 budget and Meet the Candidates running for the open Board of Education trustee position will be held tomorrow evening, May 6th at 6:00pm in the High School Library. The two candidates running for the trustee position, Elizabeth Ryder and Michael Martuscello, will have the opportunity to address the Board and the public during the meeting.

During an enrichment math time, 4th-grade students Misha and Tucker learned how to open a business, create a business plan, calculate costs and profits, advertise, and more by creating their own Hot Chocolate business that our Elementary HCS Staff was treated to!
They learned about the different types of resources (human, nature, and capital), goods and services, producers and consumers, and costs and profit. They made a $12.54 profit.

SCHOOL TRUSTEE VACANCY
Hammondsport Central School announces one vacancy for trustee on its Board of Education as of June 30, 2025.
Qualified voters of the school district will elect this member at the annual school district election on May 20, 2025, between the hours of noon and 8:00 p.m. in the HS Gym.
Qualifications of School Trustee Candidates are as follows:
· Age 18 years or older
· Citizen of the United States
· Ability to read and write
· Residency in the Hammondsport Central School District for at least one (1) year prior to
the date of the election.
Anyone interested in running for this trustee seat may pick up a Candidate Packet at the District Office. Deadline for filing completed petitions is 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, in the District Office.

Today, March 21st, is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). This global awareness day has been officially observed since 2012. Our HCS students and staff were invited to wear "Crocs and socks" in recognition of this day.
